The search for London’s best vegan brunches – Part 3: Lele’s

In this series, I am searching London to find the best vegan brunches, and this week I’ve got an absolute gem to share.

I first spotted Lele’s at one of London’s vegan markets. They had the most beautifully presented table with French Patisserie style sweet treats, that after many trials, I can say, taste as good as they look. I was so excited when I found out that they also had a cafe in nearby Clapton.

Checking out the cafe had been on my to do list for a few weeks, when Lele’s contacted me to let me know that as of December 1st 2017 they were going entirely vegan, and asked if I would like to come try out the new menu! Ummm yes Lele’s I would absolutely love to.

Getting there was no problem as it is on a main road and many buses stop right outside. Inside the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming with bookshelves, plants and antique mirrors hung on the walls. A lovely place to be on a cold, wet day.

The menu looked great as there were both savoury and sweet breakfast options as well as some delicious sounding lunch options. If you know me, you know that I am all about the pancakes, but the peanut butter and raspberry french toast sounded too good to pass up. No joke, this was the best sweet brunch I have ever had. The french toast was smothered in coconut cream, raspberry compote and peanut butter, which gave the dish the perfect balance of salty sweet. As if those flavours were not enough, the toast itself seemed to be almost caramelized. I had to turn down my husband when he asked for a second bite.

My husband had the full English and that was also beautifully presented, as well as being really tasty.

Our coffees were delicious, the service was lovely and we got to pet some local dogs that came in, which really put this brunch over the top!

I would love to go back and try more of the menu, though I know it’s going to be very difficult to say no to that French toast. They also do an afternoon tea on Sundays, which I cannot wait to try! I highly recommend this spot to anyone and everyone!
